ABOUT US

At Chofesh, our journey began through years of dedicated volunteering and experience in supporting children with special needs. As parents sought our assistance during school closures, we recognized the growing need for a specialized summer program. Encouraged by the families of the children we worked with, we decided to establish Chofesh to provide a supportive environment for children during those crucial times when schools are not in session.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Chofesh, our philosophy is grounded in the belief that every child, regardless of their abilities or challenges, deserves to be treated with utmost respect. We operate under the principle of presuming competence, recognizing that every child has inherent capabilities and strengths. We place a profound emphasis on valuing every participant for what they can achieve, celebrating their unique talents and contributions rather than focusing on limitations. At Chofesh, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing space where every child is seen, heard, and appreciated for who they are.

l'ilui nishmas Esther Sara bas Moshe A"H

Who had a special place in her heart for special needs children. During Yomim Tovim and Shabbosim, she would open her home to them, offering their families a much-needed respite from the daily challenges they faced. It is our hope that Chofesh will provide an opportunity for special needs children and their families to experience the same sense of community, respite, and support that she offered.
